Easter Reflection
Easter Reflection
Imagine Mary’s surprise when she goes to the tomb and finds it empty. Imagine how she feels when she meets Jesus in the garden and discovers that it is really him. What does she do but go and tell Peter and the disciples that the Lord has risen.
Do they believe her? No, they go to find out for themselves.
It is said: “Seeing is believing” and yet the disciples weren’t quite sure what happened. In time, though, they come to understand the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, and they become witnesses and preachers of this great event.
We, as followers of Jesus, celebrate this day of resurrection, too. But does it change us? Do we truly believe that Jesus died and rose for us? Are our lives changed? Do we live lives of service to God’s people? Do we forgive when wronged? Do we reconcile when needed with patience, compassion and love?
This is how we become witnesses to the resurrection in our time and place. Be an Easter people! Let your light shine!
