The members of this commission gathered at Villa Mater Dei, our house in Rome near the Vatican, to carry out the tasks given them by the Congregational Chapter. They explored the available space in the house to see what could be used by the community and what could be leased to other groups.
The commission considered the possibility of establishing an intercultural living community in ministry to address the needs of poor people in the city of Rome. They also explored whether the house could serve as a place of intercultural encounter for others living and studying in Rome. Realizing that the practical decisions for the Villa’s use would be made by the German Sisters who own the property, they provided a series of Observations and Recommendations to assist in planning for the future of the Villa.
