Marie de la Roche Province, United States / Caribbean
In 1876, the first six Sisters arrived from Germany to establish a mission in the United States. Later that same year, they were followed by another 10 Sisters.
That mission grew and spread eventually forming three U.S. provinces and a region in Puerto Rico. In 2001, these groups restructured forming the Marie de la Roche Province, which is headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA. In 2022, almost half of the province’s membership moved into a new residence, The Commons at Providence Heights.
Our Sisters maintain active ministries in education, health care, pastoral care, social work, peace and justice concerns, as well as serving the poor and homeless and those who are seeking asylum.
