Korean Province

St. Joseph Province, South Korea

The Foundation of the Sisters of Divine Providence in Korea was approved in 1966.
In 1964, thirteen Korean candidates were accepted as postulants in Rome.
Sister Natalie Marchetti, a member of St. Peter Province in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was a formation director.
Some of the first and second group came back to Korea to join the community after their first profession in 1968, while others went to Germany to study nursing. On July 12, 1995, the Region of Korea became St. Joseph the Worker Province.

Now 127 Sisters of the Province serve God’s people in the areas of health service, parish ministry, education, social service, retreat center and spiritual accompaniment, actualizing Providence.
